Job purpose summary:

  • Solving issues with employees computers, networks, servers
  • Rolling out new starters
  • Training of employees
  • Helping employee's with general issues

Key responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone electronically
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
  • Research questions using available information resources
  • Advise user on appropriate action
  • Follow standard help desk procedures
  • Log all help desk interactions
  • Administer help desk software
  • Redirect problems to appropriate resource
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
  • Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
  • Prepare activity reports
  • Stay current with system information, changes and updates

Essential Experience: High Knowledge of Mac OSX 10.6 and 10.7 Knowledge of Windows and Windows Server, Active Directory Basic Knowledge on SUSE Basic hardware troubleshooting Understanding of Networking,TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, LDAP Experience with Apple Mail, Googlemail, iCal and Office for Mac Desirable to have some experience with VPN, ESXi, CCM, Juniper or Cisco router's but not essential Any Apple certifications would be a bonus
Education: A Degree or equivalent would be required in a related background
